How to measure the glassware?

There are different brand name of restaurant glasses in the food service market, such as Libbey, Cardinal, Anchor Hocking which bought by Oneida, some company have special plastic drink ware, TableCraft and Yanco have couple of items.
To remember all the item numbers is a great challenge. So, if you purchased one of your wine glass few weeks ago, and in the Thursday, you find your wine glass inventory are very low the the coming Friday and Saturday, but you have no idea of what the number of it, even forgot the brand name, the only thing is Just This Wine Glass. What will you do?

Here is a tip for you to measure your glass, and send the information with picture to your glassware supplier.

First, there are three type of dimensions that you will need to measure.
1. Top Diameter
2. Bottom Diameter
3. Height
With all these information most of the sales will  figure it out the items with the picture you sent.

Second, find a measure tape, to measure the very out edge of the glass, and you will find some size information like 3", 3 1/8", 3 3/4"...etc, make notes of the dimensions of the top, bottom, and the height. Take a photo with clear background.

The best solution is, after the purchase, write down all the item numbers with the function of your glass. Thus, you will have no head ache at all for every item that your restaurant playing with.
